Can you relate? Then you are a Diet Feeler! The Diet Feeler values relationships and unity. What does it mean when a Diet Feeler embarks on a weight loss and diet plan? Diet Feelers can get over-involved and overwhelmed in the lives of others, leaving no time or energy for themselves. They also crave connections with the people around them, and will thus avoid conflict.
  For instance, if everyone is sharing a pumpkin pie at the Thanksgiving dinner table, a Diet Feeler will instinctively want to have a piece, too (even if she’s not hungry, and even if pumpkin pie is not her favorite dessert), so she can celebrate with the group.

The resolution?  Examine the big picture of her own life, and consider (really consider) how often she overlooks her own needs to please others.

In addition, because relationships are so important to a Diet Feeler, when someone else is cruel or critical, she tends to get very hurt—and will reach for comfort foods (Sad=macaroni and cheese; heartbreak=chocolate and ice cream.) The solution? The Diet Feeler needs to realize that the comfort found in food is only temporary and does nothing to resolve the underlying issues, or to heal her hurt feelings.  Uncovering her cravings and recording her emotional triggers so she can beat them, will help her stick to her weight loss path the next time they come up.
